Our Approach

Placing outstanding German-language manuscripts with German-language publishers

This is our core business, and our expertise in this area is what sets Drummer Literary Agency apart.

Development of a data-driven trend analysis tool

Together with an experienced tech entrepreneur, we are developing a tool that aggregates sales figures, bestseller data, and social media trends to generate forecasts for the book market.

Maximizing and optimizing the exploitation of ancillary rights

Thanks to our many years of experience in the audiobook industry, we know how to place our authors’ projects with renowned audiobook publishers. We also have an extensive network abroad and strive to have the agency’s projects translated and, ideally, adapted for film.

Acting as a co-agency for international publishers and agencies

We have a deep understanding of the German-language book market and a strong network. Drawing on this expertise, we are eager to collaborate with international partners to maximize the success of our books.

It all started with this idea: We want more people to read. And we want them to be able to find exactly the kind of stories that really inspire them, whenever they want. That’s what we want to help make happen.

But publishers plan well in advance. How can we know what will work 12 to 18 months from now? How can literary agencies become even more accurate in their predictions these days?

That’s how Drummer Literary Agency came to be. We combine traditional agency work with an instinct for and passion for outstanding stories—along with data-driven market insight that grows increasingly accurate through trend analysis.

Publishers can rest assured that the manuscripts we represent have a high chance of success, as we are familiar with the latest trends and developments in the book market. This means we offer exactly the kind of books that readers will love now and in the near future.

In addition, we place particular importance on maximizing the exploitation of our authors’ ancillary rights (translations, audio, film, and television). Professional development opportunities and a mentorship program in New York City, the heart of the global publishing industry, give us access to an extensive international network and inspire us to think big when it comes to our projects.

The Drummer Literary Agency is open to serving as a co-agent for international publishers and agencies.
